The Weekend Wrap-Up

Memes The Weekend Wrap-Up

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer.

Off the Blog

It’s finally warm in NYC and I’ve suddenly remembered that I actually melt like a human popsicle in the sun. I’m basically a swamp monster, so get ready for a Summer of me just being…damp. Yay!

In other news, I finally got my tickets to BookCon next month! I’ve never been, and the authors list is amazing this year! I am going to get so many things SIGNED!

What I’m Watching

Black Lightning on Netflix

WHY IS EVERYONE SLEEPING ON THIS SHOW?! I specifically waited for it to be on Netflix so I could binge watch it, but this show should have been UNAVOIDABLE it’s so good! So unapologetically black, and for a show on The CW? That’s a BIG DEAL.

What I’m Reading

The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski

I finished the first two pretty quickly, and am starting the last one today! Hopefully can include the trilogy in my mini-review roundup later this week!

What I’m Eating

Zucchini Chips

I’m having a weird love affair with zucchini chips right now. Seriously it’s all I’m eating.
You can use this recipe that uses cheese and breadcrumbs, but I also just throw them into the the oven with olive oil and salt and then gobble them immediately because I’m a monster with no self control!

  1. Welcome to the Sunday Post!! And yay for Bookcon! Sounds like a blast…

I’ve heard Black Lightning is good but haven’t tried it yet…

    1. Thanks!!
You should definitely believe the hype with Black Lightning. I’ve spent the whole day telling everyone I’ve come into contact with to watch it. 🤣

  2. New follower Chloe!

Firstly I have had some weird obsession with zuccini, not even chips but I have been craving for the soft boiled ones that I even included in my spag bol for the fam.

I’m currently listening to the audiobooks of Illuminae Files whilst reading along. The two combo works amazing as you see the drawings and get the sound effects. There’s also pics of the soldiers in Gemina so you’ll get a picture in your head what people look like. IF you can only have one, definitely get the AUDIOBOOKS! The reading and sound effects are AMAZING!

BookCon…so lucky. I’m in Sydney Australia and we rarely get such awesome events and even when we do, our Author list isn’t amazing as not many people want to fly from USA to here…hello 17 hours flight, and that’s just to Vegas.

Enjoy your week! Are you participating in the Bout of Books readathon?

    Angelica @ Paperback Princess

    1. Hi Angelica!! Thanks for following!
LET’S TALK ZUCCHINIS! Are you doing the zucchini noodle things? I’ve botched it every time I’ve tried to do it myself, maybe I need fresher ones?? I DON’T KNOW!

OKAY good to know about the Illuminae Files, I love audiobooks but sometimes I miss out on the cool stuff in books (like MAPS!!! Damnit all audiobooks should have the maps as a separate downloadable PDF!)

Ooh, I don’t think I’ve heard of the Bout of Books readathon? Sounds interesting! What is that?
      Thanks for stopping by!!!!

  3. I’m going to have to go look for Black LIghtning on Netflix. I hadn’t heard of it before but it does sound great and I’m always looking for new shows to watch on there anyway.

Yay for Bookcon tix! I’ve never been either but it always sounds like such an incredible experience.

  4. Yesssss!!! It’s so good! It airs on The CW but it’s all up on Netflix now since the season is over. At least it’s on the US netflix? I keep forgetting they’re not the same everywhere.

I’m so excited for BookCon! But worried I’m going to come home with a 100 totes full of books! Where would I PUT THEM ALL?!

    1. I didn’t like zucchini either for most of my life! And yet HERE I AM! Wondering if there is a zucchini farm in the area I can visit???! What happened to me!?
