Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they have a different theme for bloggers to post their Top Ten. This week’s theme is…..

I only have seven though because….I’m not sure. I was thinking about all the books I read and honestly, I’m not sure I *want* to visit those places! People be getting their heads chopped off or like the world is a mess without flushing toilets and I don’t THINK I’D DO VERY WELL, PERSONALLY SO. Here are my SEVEN bookish settings I’d love to visit…

  1. Hogsmeade from the Harry Potter Series

YUP. If I had to choose ONE PLACE in the Harry Potter world to visit, it wouldn’t be Hogwarts (filled with all them teenagers) it would be Hogsmeade. Cozy, magical Hogsmeade with it’s butterbeer and candy shops. Look, I’m like an adult woman okay, I can’t be skulking around the halls of a foreign boarding school, so it’s the local snowy village for me!

  2. The Night Court from ACOTAR Series

Velaris is the City of STARLIGHT for goodness sakes I gotta see it okay I just. Rhys sacrificed everything for this place and I need to know WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE YOU BEAUTIFUL THING.

  3. Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings

For the ‘grams. I’m gonna rope me a sophisticated elf hottie, FIGWIT WHERE U AT?

  4.  Starship Enterprise from Star Trek

I’m including it. I don’t care. They had books right? SURE. I want the outfits and I want a holodeck and I want a replicator for all my food needs. Plus you know, space, the final frontier etc. blah blah blah

  5. Themyscira from Wonder Woman

I’m including this even though I’ve never actually read any of the source material and this is based of the depiction of the Amazonian paradise island from Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman. A place where women can live happily in peace with each other! It’s beautiful and populated with kickass warrior women who do things like launch each other into the air with shields…soooooooo….I WANT TO GO TO THERE.

  6. Warcross

Because I just started the book and it’s already 10000x more compelling than the garbage pile that was Ready Player One. I definitely want to explore Marie Lu’s Virtual Reality world. Strap me in, let’s do this.

  7. Camp Half Blood from the Percy Jackson Series

Because it’s CAMP! And it’s GODS! And it’s THEMED CABINS!

What book locations would you like to visit? Do I share any of your Top Ten?

    1. I guess if like the Ministry of Magic had a 21 Jump Street type division and I could magically lift my face or something MAAAAYBE I could pass as a seventh year.

  1. Great choices! Rivendell and Hogsmeade would be at the top of my list too, though if I had to choose just one place in the Harry Potter universe to visit it would definitely be Hogwarts. Themyscira would be amazing too. Just think, sunshine all the time, inspiring women everywhere, no sexual harassers, rapists, or gross old men…*sigh*

Themyscira is like the ultimate paradise at this point. Plus I feel like without the stress of having to dodge creepy men all the time my hair would grow long and luxurious and my skin would always be clear.
And I wouldn’t have to pay for tampons.
      What a beautiful life.
