Top Ten Tuesday: Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted byΒ That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week is a different theme for bloggers to post their Top Ten. This week’s theme is Spring TBR.

Aaaaaaah Spring. You know Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Chloe you lazy ho, why the fuck haven’t you been blogging?!”
Short answer: Because I’m a lazy ho.
Long answer: Because I was in a musical and we just wrapped up last week and I needed to nap for a billion years because I’M A LAZY HO.

But my sinuses are newly invigorated to the changes of the season, and so is my brain capsule! I don’t know what I’m saying, frankly I’m a little hopped up on allergy meds, but LET’S DO THIS YOU GUYS!

I’ve got a bunch of new things to read but also I feel like it’s time for some SPRING CLEANING! I’m going to reach deep into the cobwebbed corners of my TBR and pull out a book I should have read YEARS AGO. Finally get that shit cleaned OUT.

The Astonishing Color of After

Alright so this one isn’t exactly old, in fact it just debuted TODAY!!!!! It just feels like it’s been in my TBR for ages because I’ve been looking forward to it since last year! The cover is gorgeous and I can’t wait to finally read it! I’m going to the book launch party later today so I WILL HAVE IT SOOOOOON!

The Shades of Magic Series

I thought I’d ease into Schwab with This Savage Song but….turns out I’m not doing so well with that book so I’ll just skip to Shades of Magic! Which is the series I most wanted to read from her anyway!

The Night Circus

Hmmm. Well this has been on my TBR for so long I don’t even remember why? What is this? Do I still need to read it? I DON’T KNOW I GUESS WE’LL FIND OUT.

Red Queen

This is a re-read because I did NOT like these books, but everyone else loves them so I’m wondering if maybe doing the audiobook messed me up? I am determined to give these books another go before the next one comes out. They are deserving of that….right?

Olympian Challenger

Uh….Okay I don’t know what this is. But it’s pretty and I got it as an ARC! I know it has to do with Greek Mythology and honestly that’s really all I need to know to want to read a book.

Heart of Iron

It’s Anastasia….IN SPACE!

Six of Crows

Don’t look at me like that. I WILL finish it this time. This is fucking happening.

So I don’t love this cover, but apparently you’re not supposed to judge books by those.

A Thousand Pieces of You

Ooooh. Leaping through dimensions to catch a killer?! Might as well have called it “A Thousand Pieces of You, Chloe!” Also not sure how this has been on my TBR for so long, but I never actually knew what the premise was! If I had known I would have read it much sooner.

Three Dark Crowns

Whoops look it’s a book I started and never finished! I’ll tell you though the problem with this was definitely the audiobook, I couldn’t keep anyone straight! Where are we, who is that? What are we doing? Which one eats poison?! TOO MANY NAMES AND I KEPT TAKING NAPS.

Let’s be honest though, now that I’ve named them as books on my TBR I’ll probably find thirty other books that I’ll need to read IMMEDIATELY.

What’s on your TBR?! Any recommendations for me?

    1. Any day between now and the end of time WE. WILL. READ. Six of Crows! It will happen.
And I am always interested in other people’s TBR’S! I’ll definitely check it out!

  1. Ahhhhh I LOVED The Night Circus!! It’s been a few years since I read it, so the details are a little fuzzy, but I’m crazy about that book. It’s like the more toned down, adult cousin of Caraval. Hopefully you like it too. Try reading it while you’re doped up on the allergy meds, that’ll be good. πŸ˜‚ I didn’t really care for Red Queen either, so if you actually read it and it’s better let me know. If it works I may have to copy you because I do not understand the hype around that book.

I haven’t read A Darker Shade of Magic OR Six of Crows yet, and I’m so happy I’m not alone. Thought I was the last person in the universe who hadn’t. Lol. They’re on my list though dammit!!

    1. Oh good! Okay someone who knows what The Night Circus is, because I honestly don’t remember who told me to read it or why!!! I definitely would LIKE a more adult version of Caraval so I’ll read it while I’m on that SUPER DROWSY meds and just see what comes up!

Yaaaay! Only thing better than finding someone who has read the same book as you, is finding someone who HASN’T read the same book as you…but WANTS to! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  2. READ SIX OF CROWS 😁😁😁 I love this list! And, um, why haven’t I heard of A Thousand Pieces of You, yet? I need that in my life from the one sentence blurb you gave! Happy reading! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on basically all of these πŸ˜‚

    1. IT’S HAPPENING! I’m gonna do it I swear! Maybe I need the actual book instead of audiobook?? Switch things up a bit.

    1. OH GOOD! I love that there is just a (not so) secret society of bloggers who have yet to get to Six of Crows! πŸ˜‚

  3. Oh these are all brilliant books. The Shades of Magic series, Six of Crows and The Night Circus are ultimate all-time favourites of mine so I really hope you love them. I’ve also heard really good things about The Astonishing Color of After as well so I really hope you enjoy that one as well.
Great picks for this week. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! I’m sure I’ll love them….especially once I actually get down to reading them! πŸ˜‚
