It’s my BIRTHDAY!! Yaaaay! I am actually pretty sick right now with a cold. My body has apparently put up with 28 years of my nonsense and is TIRED OF IT.
0/10. Do not recommend. I had so many things I wanted to eat and now I am just…stuffy. Ugh. CHERISH YOUR UNPLUGGED NOSES, MY SWEET SUMMER CHILDREN. CHERISH IT.
Since I’m haul up in bed, I decided to go through my DNF’d books from 2018 and figure out if I am going to toss them for good, or give them another shot!
For the most part my DNF’s are just what I happened to be reading when I got distracted by other books. I fully intend to go back and finish them, but the longer it goes on the more I forget about what happened so it makes me not wanna jump back in, you feel me?
A few of these I need to try in physical form, because obviously the audio version is not working for me (see me trying to read Six of Crows at least six times this year 😩). But a couple are getting tossed for good, unless you think I need to keep ’em?! Or if I’m keeping ones that aren’t worth it? LMK IN THE COMMENTS!
This was my first foray into Schwab’s writings and I am not sure why but I couldn’t get into the world. I don’t think I could match up visually in my mind with what was going on in the page. I just couldn’t get into it.
But I’ll probably put it on the back-burner for awhile. I just got the Illuminae Files so I’m going to read those first and then come back to this sometime in 2019.
I feel so bad because I worked to get this ARC at NYCC, but because it’s a physical book it’s suffered a little bit on my reading list. I loved what I’ve read so far, and it’s a high priority for me to finish in the first few weeks of 2019!
I raced through the first two and then when I got to this it seemed to slow down. Plus I could tell I was heading for some sort of emotional disaster so I stopped. I’m in a bit of a pickle because I don’t remember EXACTLY what was going on, but I definitely will pick this back up again soon!
I’m not sure what to do with this one. It was one of my most anticipated reads but it’s not exactly how I imagined it and I’m not sure if I should keep pushing it. Thoughts?
The audiobook was too confusing to follow, for some reason. Not sure if it was the names or the world building. But it didn’t grab me enough to want to try it in physical form. It gets tossed.
I’m keeping this only because I am so committed to reading Six of Crows and when I started it, I didn’t realize they were tied together somehow? Like I guess the ending of this series is spoiled in Six of Crows? WHATEVER. If it’s important, I’ll read it. And then I’m coming for Kaz!
KEEP. KEEEEP GODDAMNIT.
How is this my Everest?! I must have tried so many times this year to read Six of Crows and I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. I think the audiobook is the problem because by all accounts this should be MY. EXACT. TYPE OF BOOK. so I’m getting the physical books and we are gonna DO THIS THING RIGHT.
